An introduction to materials science research and to RIMSE summer research opportunities in the UC San Diego MRSEC, to prepare students to engage in more in-depth research experiences within MRSEC (UC San Diego MRSEC RIMSE Summer Schools) or in the UC San Diego research community at large.

BIO: Georgia is a high school student attending Aragon High School (Class of 2025) who will be participating in the 2024 Silicon Nanotechnology Spring Break RIMSE program. She is interested in learning how nanotechnology can affect our future medical advances. In her free time she enjoys playing lacrosse, cheerleading, traveling and reading.

Name: Vanessa Galindo
BIO: Vanessa is a high school student at Francis Parker School. She is interested in engineering and mathematics and excited to learn and test different silicon-based nanomaterials. She will be starting college in the fall with an intended major in Electrical Engineering, and will be participating in the 2024 Silicon Nanotechnology Spring Break RIMSE program.

Name: Daman Seth
BIO: Daman is a first year undergraduate Chemical Engineering student (Class at 2027) at UC San Diego. He grew up in New Delhi, India before coming to UCSD. He will be participating in the 2024 Silicon Nanotechnology Spring Break RIMSE program. Outside the laboratory, he enjoys entrepreneurship, cricket, cooking and watching documentaries.
