To achieve the sensitivity required for magnetic measurements on individual single domains, a variety of unique instrumentation is being developed. Current sensitivity is 10^-14 emu, and a spatial resolution of magnetic structure of <70 nm. A laser ablation system has been installed at Morgan State University (Professor Conrad Williams), and cluster-beam deposition will shortly be available at UCSD (collaboration with Professor David Miller).
