Jan B. Talbot, Associate Professor of Chemical Engineering in the Ames Department at UCSD, received her Ph.D. in chemical engineering from the University of Minnesota in 1986. Her present research interests are directed to electrodeposition in magnetic recording and semiconductor technologies, electrophoretic deposition for phosphors for display applications, and corrosion. These studies combine experiments and mathematical modeling of coupled mass transport and reaction kinetics. She held research management positions and conducted research at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory from 1975 to 1981.
